A sensor is a device helping to detect changes in the immediate environment by capturing the stimulus changes and updating the system electronically. It has the ability to transform any physical quantity, such as pressure or acceleration, into an output signal. This output signal acts as an input for the control systems. Knock, knocking, detonation, spark knock, pinging, or pinking is a process in the spark-ignition internal combustion engines that occurs when a combustion of the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder does not start off correctly in response to ignition by the spark plug, instead one or more pockets of air-fuel mixture explode outside the envelope of the normal combustion front. A knock sensor is a device that helps to prevent detonation or spark knock. A detonation or a spark knock is a form of combustion that can cause damage or even failure of the engine. This failure occurs when the heat and pressure in the combustion chamber of the engine are excessive, causing the air-fuel mixture to auto-ignite.The protection of the engine from uncontrolled combustion is expected to be one of the major factors having a positive impact on the growth of the market. The knock sensors provide increased assistance in alerting the rider in case of any detonation. This prevents the damage caused by the engine and engine-related components.
